Moving into a new month, October saw the Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup take place once more for a number of Shoestrings-Chargrill Sponsored Chippenham & District Sunday Football League.

Audley FC 1-3 Pack Horse

Pack Horse Gallop Into Next Round

Leafy Lane provided the setting for a much anticipated match between Audley FC and Pack Horse with both teams having started well in their respective divisions.

It was Audley of Division 3 who went into the break leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Kieran Tarrant.

Pack Horse turned the game on its head as a Jamal Chevolleau hat-trick meant that Pack Horse move into round 2.

Chippenham Icons FC 4-3 Royal Oak FC

Icons Chop Down Oak

Chippenham Icons picked up a morale boosting win albeit in the Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup but their opponents, Royal Oak were holding onto a 100% record in all competitions so this will make the win for Icons that little bit sweeter.

A bustling first half saw plenty of action, all 3 of Oak’s goals scored in the first period through Sam Chapman, Brody Broom and Liam Moffat. Icons replied through Joey Highlands and Carl Summers to make it 3-2 at the break.

The second half proved a different affair with Icons scoring 2 unanswered goals through Mike Hill and Will Baguley for a 4-3 win and passage through to the next round.

British Lion FC 9-2 The Pewsham FC

British Lion progress to the next round after recording a convincing win against The Pewsham.

Jordan Dixon put in a real captains performance which included chipping in with a goal alongside Angus Webster. A brace for Jon Webb and a mere 5 goals for Liam Mortimer made the numbers for Lion.

Niall Choularton was possibly lucky to remain on the pitch after a strong challenge left one of The Pewsham players injured but the referee saw things differently and he remained in the game.

FC Box 1-8 FC Lacock

Lacock Too Good For Box

FC Box put in a valiant effort and tried to play their football but ultimately they were undone by the quality possessed by FC Lacock.

Despite a Callum Talmash goal meaning the halftime score was a respectable 2-1 to Lacock, the second half became quite one sides through 6 more goals without reply.

Billy Gleed took centre stage this time around with 4 goals, Keiron Gleed scored himself a brace, Eddie Summers scored 1 and Josh Bright had a quieter match on the goal front than in previous weeks with just the 1 goal to his name by the time the final whistle sounded.

Fox & Hounds (Warminster) 7-1 Warminster Athletic

Warminster Derby Goes The Way Of The Foxes

The Warminster derby went the way of Fox & Hounds as they ran out 7-1 winners against Warminster Athletic.

Jayson Stokes and Taylor Kitley scored 2 apiece, Alan Hitchcock and George Ingram also got their names on the scoresheet and Steve Corbin dispatched a penalty with the sole reply coming from Gareth Beardshaw.

Semington FC 0-0 Calne United FC (Calne United Win 5-4 On Penalties)

United Slay Premier Division Semington

Despite playing out an extremely rare goalless draw, Calne United will be delighted that they managed to hold off Premier Division opposition Semington and maintained their impressive start to the season.

Sam Peacock was the hero of the day, saving 2 penalties from Ian Dowell and Adam Petty. Soreanu Sorin Cosmin, Adam Welch, Harry Ozut, George Madden and Dale Wood scored their efforts from 12 yards to win the tie.

Chris Dore, Sam Malone, Daniel Rimmer and Alex Maclachlan scored Semigton’s penalties.

Spire FC 5-1 Misfits FC

Long Road Back For Misfits After Cup Exit

CDSFL’s Misfits had the lengthy trip to Salisbury to take on a Spire FC from the Salisbury & District League and it would have no doubt been a long drive home after returning with a 5-1 loss and cup exit.

Ben Thomas scored the solitary goal for Misfits.

Westbury Celtic 3-2 Steeple Ashton

A close encounter took place at Bratton Recreation Ground as Division 3 Westbury Celtic overcame their Division 2 opponents Steeple Ashton.

This tight affair went the way of Celtic by 3 goals to 2 with the red card for Ollie Nash proving pivotal after the first half ended 1-1.

Marc Lanfear scored twice with Hayden Atkins grabbing the other and Ashton’s response came from Aaron Burbridge and Mike Booth.

West Tytherley 5-4 Spires Athletic

Dylan Hatt-Trick In Vain For Spires

The second of 2 CDSFL teams that had to make the trip to Salisbury and again the travel back will be that of a slightly disappointing nature but Spires Athletic represented the CDSFL admirably in a 9 goal thriller against West Tytherley of the Salisbury & District League.

West Tytherley went into the break 3 goals to the good and you would have thought the game was as good as over but Spires had other ideas.

Dylan Hatt took the match ball home and Toby Beatie added another to ensure a tight finish but ultimately it was not quite enough as they went down 5-4.
