Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup – Round 3 – Week 10

Week 10 saw a vast improvement in the weather with all scheduled matches in Shoestrings-Chargrill Sponsored Chippenham & District Sunday Football League and the Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup going ahead.

Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup:

Clarendon Juniors FC 0-10 FC Devizes United

Devizes Ten Out Of Ten in WSC

A hefty trip to Salisbury did not dampen the spirits of Devizes United as they put Clarendon Juniors of Salisbury & District Sunday League Division 1 to the sword, winning by no less than ten goals to nil.

There was a hattrick apiece for Jamie Walters & Kian Fulford as well as a brace for Jordan Anning and one each for Kassa Anderson & Jack Coward.

Calne United 1-4 Croft Juniors FC

Croft Craft Win At Calne

Calne United were disappointed this Sunday as they lost to Croft Junior FC of the Swindon Sunday Football League Division 1 by four goals to one.

It was a tight affair in the first half and the lead was a slender 2-1 with Evander Sampson scoring for United and a Aaron Dale brace for Juniors.

However in the second half Dale not only completed his hattrick but grabbed his and his sides fourth and final goal to give Croft Juniors safe passage to the next round.

Pack Horse FC 6-0 Spire FC

Horse Through To Next Round In Style

Spire FC may have knocked out CDSFL opposition in the previous round of the Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup but that was and still is their only win in seven outings as their long trip from Salisbury to Beversbrook ended in a heavy defeat to Pack Horse.

Goals were scored by Edward McCormack(2), Leigh Rogers, Max Wyatt and substitutes Oliver Deane & Adam Gerrard.

Westbury Celtic 0-2 Fox & Hounds (Warminster) FC

Fox & Hound Win CDSFL Battle

In the only match threw up a Wiltshire FA Sunday tie a tight match was eventually won by Fox & Hounds by two goals to nil versus Westbury Celtic.

The affair was evenly matched all and naturally both sides went in unable to make the breakthrough when the halftime whistle sounded.

Two second half goals by Jake Owen and Myles Woodward was enough to secure somewhat of local bragging rights and secure The Foxes passage to the next round of the Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup.

British Lion FC 0-3 Halfway House Harriers FC

Lion Tamed By Harriers

The British Lion’s run in the Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup has been ended by Halfway House Harriers of the Salisbury & District Sunday League Division 1.

However, the performance was certainly a valiant one as this was always going to be tough ask against an undefeated side who currently reside on top spot in their respective division so I am sure with this in mind, Lion will be pretty happy with a spirited performance as they lost by three goals to nil.

Purton Redhouse FC 0-2 FC Lacock

Another Fine Result For CDSFL’s Lacock

FC Lacock made their way into the next round of the Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup thanks to a hard fought two nil victory over Purton Redhouse FC of the Swindon Sunday Football League Division 2.

With Redhouse sitting bottom of their respective division, it would not have been unreasonable for thinking a big win was in offing.

But they were kept to a reasonable scoreline as they went in at the break a goal to the good thanks to a Billy Gleed effort.

A second goal from Nick Mills in the second was enough to send the CDSFL side through.

Lavis FC 9-0 York FC

Cloud Nine For Lavis In WSC

In what looked like was going to be a tough assignment for Lavis FC as they faced an undefeated opponent who at the time of kick off were sitting top of the Salisbury & District Sunday League Division 2 in York Athletic FC but they put on a scintillating performance to stroll through to the next round.

Two goals each for Francois Allen & Mark Purdy alongside efforts from Jack Sterling, Levi Wood, Kieran Plummer & Jay Brown ensure that with an unfortunate own goal, Lavis ran out winners by nine goals to nil.

Walkovers

AFC Melksham were given a walkover into the next round of the cup whereas Chippenham Icons & Staverton Rangers (Sunday) FC could not raise a team for their matches and suffered an exit from the competition. The opponents they were due to face were Highworth Town (Sunday), Penhill United & AFC Mannington respectively.
