DIVISION THREE ROUND UP – 20th February
Athletic have a Gr-eight day
Westbury Celtic FC 2 Warminster Athletic FC 8
With the weather claiming the matches between Dyson Institute and The British Lion and Misfits and Spires Athletic, the only Shoestrings-chargrill sponsored Chippenham Sunday League, Third division fixture that beat the elements was the local derby between near neighbours Westbury Celtic FC and Warminster Athletic FC.
With the original venue of Bratton being underwater the game was switched to St Georges, Warminster, where the teams shared 10 goals on the opening day of the season. The reverse fixture also produced 10 goals, but unlike the first meeting that finished 5-5, this one was won 8-2 by Stuart Green’s Warminster Athletic side.
Gareth Beardshaw and Noah Millard shared Warminster’s first half goals. Millard grabbed a second after the break, a Jake Dudley own goal accounted for number 4 with the other being shared by Ethan Green, Adam Clark, Cain Evans and Callum Hotine
Hayden Atkins and Sol Vowell replied for Westbury, who may have wish they hadn’t taken up the offer to reverse what would have been their home match.

The first match to suffer at the hands of Storm Eunice was the game at the Jubilee Field, Bromham between basement side Misfits FC and Spires Athletic FC that was shown the red card on Saturday afternoon, when the pitch which hadn’t recovered from the pounding it took the previous Sunday was deemed to be unplayable.
