DIVISION TWO ROUND UP – 20th March

Nickless-Mooney at the double for Old Road

Old Road FC 3 Fox & Hounds (Warminster) FC

Having beaten Fox & Hounds (Warminster) FC 1-0 last weekend Old Road FC knew that another victory over the same opponents would see them extend their lead at the top Shoestrings-chargrill sponsored Chippenham Sunday League, Division Two to 6 points from fellow title chasers FC Box who were without a fixture.

Old Road duly obliged with a 3-0 victory that leaves them in pole position for the time being as they could yet surrender the number one spot to FCBox who have two matches still to play.

Two brilliantly taken goals saw Old Road take a half time lead, the first coming from Seamus Nickless-Mooney, whose delightful dink over the Warminster keeper gave his team the lead.  The second saw Louis Hoof rifle home a sublime effort from the 18 yards out to double the leaders advantage.

Any hopes of a Fox & Hounds comeback were ended when Seamus Nickless-Mooney netted from the penalty spot to wrap up another 3 points for the Chippenham based side who know that had they taken something from their shock defeat at the hands of Calne United earlier in the season they would already be champions.
