The Pewsham Brought To A Halt
Steve Browning’s early season pacesetters were brought back down to earth as his Pewsham side were humbled six goals to nil by Bath Rovers at Batheaston Recreation Ground.
Rovers raced into a 3-0 half time lead thanks to a three goals from Chris Spurrey and unbelievable it was another hattrick in the second half for that man Spurrey that ensured the comfortable victory that propels them to second in the table.
Biddestone Athletic FC 1-2 Weston Village FC
Village Secure First Win Of The Season
A tight affair at Biddestone Village Hall as Biddestone Athletic lost by the odd goal to Weston Village.
The damage was done in the first half as a Lonut-Viorel Ranete brace meant that Weston were two goals to the good at the break.
And despite a goal from the evergreen Jason Cole they were unable to breach the defence as Weston held on for their first victory.
Keynsham Rangers FC 1-6 Corsham Rovers FC
Rovers All Smiles After First Win
Manor Road played host to this fixture that saw Corsham Rovers pick up their first win at the expense of Keynsham Rangers.
Rovers went in at the break with a two nil buffer after Sam Archard opened the scoring and that was followed up by an Owen Thompson effort.
Archard again got his name on the scoresheet in the second half before Morgan Akerman got in on the act for the fourth.
Thompson picked up his second of the match and Shaun Mitchell added a sixth with Nathan Jessop scoring the consolation for the hosts.
Lansdown Reserves FC 2-4 Trowbridge Athletic FC
Super Subs Star In First Win Of The Season
It was a bad day at the office all round for Lansdown as their Reserve side followed the first team in losing at home against Trowbridge Athletic.
Lansdown’s Frazier Collins cancelled out a Josh Mockridge goal for a 1-1 score line at the break.
And goals from substitutes Sam Jones and Oliver Letteboer sandwiched either side of a Jack Brickell goal ensured a first win of the season despite a Tom Giles effort for the home side.
Marshfield Sunday FC 8-0 TSW FC
Eight Worth The Wait
With cup commitments and cancelled fixtures meaning that this was Marshfield,s opening league fixture, it was worth the wait as they notched eight goals with no reply against TSW.
Sam Bean scored five of the goals with the victory made sure with further efforts from George Ball, Callum Duckett and Jake Good.
