Somerset FA Sunday Challenge Cup Round Up – Round 1 – Sunday 25th September 2022
Despite all divisions having pretty much a full allocation of respective fixtures there are two results to bring you in the GreenSward Sponsored Somerset FA Sunday Challenge Cup.
Gringos FC 2-4 Whiteway FC
A feisty game at Lansdown in this CBFL derby encounter as the match saw six goals and two red cards in this victory for Whiteway.
Whiteway raced into a 1-4 advantage by half time, Gringo’s Mat Bracher cancelled out by a Ashton Muir hattrick and a Bill Turner strike.
The match seemed to turn in the second as although Bracher scored a second that looked like it was going to make this match very interesting indeed, in the 57th minute and incident found Bracher taking an early shower along with Alex Kelly of Whiteway and there was also a yellow card shown to Cameron New.
This effectively killed off the game and there were no more goals as Whiteway progress into the next round.
Team Nathan AFC H-W Castle Cray Vets FC
CBFL’s Team Nathan were given a home walkover into the next round with Castle Cray unable to field a team.
