Wiltshire FA Sunday Cup Round Up – Round 1 – Sunday 4th September 2022

4 representatives from the CBFL entered the Wiltshire FA Sunday in the first round and we bring you the action for the 2 matches that took place involving these teams.

FC Box 5-1 Spires Athletic FC

Box Carry On Where They Left Off

Last Season’s AM Print & Copy Knockout Cup Winners FC Box brought that momentum into the new season with Spires Athletic the unlucky team on the receiving end of this 5-1 victory.

Toby Gingell opened the scoring and that was quickly followed up by a 2nd from Adam Mitchell.

Gingell then got his second of the match but then spurned his opportunity to take the match ball home when he missed the target from the spot just moments later.

There was time for last seasons Division 2 joint top scorer Spencer Dymonnd-Hall to get himself off of the mark for the season.

Spires did manage to tighten after the break and although Ben Wicken did breach the defence once more, Daniel Leany grabbed a goal to ensure that Box did not keep a clean sheet.

Scoop FC 5-2 Beeches FC

Beeches Undone By New Boys Scoop

Last years RP Clarke Sheds & Fencing WG Parr Winners Beeches FC were handed a tough draw in the first round of this years Wiltshire Sunday Cup but they beaten by 5 goals to 2 away at Scoop FC.

Steve Ball was at it once again scoring for Beeches alongside Tom Blackman but goals from Nathan Baldwin(2), Adam Butterworth(2) & Eddie Summers(1) ensured passage into the first round proper for Scoop.
