Three Matches To Bring you from Division 3 of the CBFL.
Bath Rovers FC 10-2 Keynsham Rangers FC
Rovers Maintain Top Spot
With Whiteway not in action & Pewsham in County Cup action it gave Bath Rovers the chance to move away from the chasing pack albeit playing a few more matches but they did just that with a resounding win over Keynsham.
Goals from Chris Spurrey(4), Sol Brown(2), Khaled Harwood, Keylum Escott, Dan Veal & Morgan Henry ensure the fine victory, Jake Fudge netted both of Rangers’ consolation goals.
Lansdown Reserves FC 1-2 Biddestone Athletic FC
Athletic Secure Narrow Victory
Biddestone left Bath with all three points after victory over Lansdown Reserves.
Ben Wood opened the scoring for the visitors and it remained that way until the break.
Jake Banks equalised for the hosts but Wood was on hand to pop up with the winner and a narrow win for Biddestone Athletic.
Trowbridge Athletic FC 3-3 Weston Village FC
Thrilling Draw At Notton House
Trowbridge Athletic and Weston Village played out an entertaining 3-3 draw on a deteriorating Notton House School pitch due to wet and windy conditions.
Trowbridge started well and their speedy forwards soon had the Weston Village defenders on the back foot. After 12 minutes Trowbridge’s Ollie Letteboer opened the scoring with a neat goal.
The younger Trowbridge team continued to dominate but gradually Weston village came back into the game as the weather worsened. After 30 minutes Weston Village equalised as Tom Hinton equalised. With half time approaching Trowbridge went back in front as Josh Mockeridge fired home and the home team went in with a 2-1 lead.
The second half started with Weston Village dominating as Trowbridge struggled as the pitch clearly became heavier. After more and more pressure, Weston Village finally equalised following a bout of pinball in the Trowbridge area with George Truckle finally getting the ball over the line.
Both teams continued to struggle with the pitch getting heavier and the continuing rain but with only a few minutes left Trowbridge were awarded a contested penalty. This resulted in both a booking and sin bin for the Weston Village player. Josh Mockeridge gave Weston keeper Jamal Caesar no chance with a low hard shot.
This seemed to galvanise the ten men who then bombarded the Trowbridge goal. Keeper Leo Capindale who had made several saves, could however do nothing as Weston Village equalised with a wicked deflection from one of his own players. The 3-3 draw was a fitting result for a game played in a great spirit despite the conditions.
