NO CHANGE AT THE TOP, AS TOP 3 WIN AGAIN
Biddestone Athletic FC 5 Corsham Rovers FC 3
Biddestone Athletic FC may not be among the teams chasing a top two finish from the shoestrings-chargrill sponsored Chippenahm & Bath League Third Division, but wit ha third win from their last 4 outings they have certainly found some form.
After a Goalless first half at home to Corsham Rovers FC, the flood gates opened in the second as the Division’s second and third highest scorers did not disappoint.
Biddestone moved up the table with a 5-3 victory over their guests.
Dan Hopwood, Kurt Baston, Ben Haines, Dan Rankin, and Tom Webb were on target for the Athletic with the Division’s second top scorer, Rovers Owen Thomson scoring a hat trick in reply.
TSW FC 2 The Pewsham FC 6
After holding a 3-1 half time lead away at Westbury Country Park, The Pewsham FC continued to dominate hosts TSW FC as they ran out 6-2 winners and maintain second place in the division.
After only narrowly beating their opponents 3-2 two weeks ago in the reverse fixture, TSW’s hopes of a better result at home were dented as an Ali Moor-Bardell hat trick and two from Michael Taraskevis with another from Rhys Edwards doing the damage for Pewsham.
Will Ludwell and Josh Shepherd replying for TSW who ended the game with ten men.
Trowbridge Athletic FC 1 Bath Rovers FC 4
Bath Rovers maintained their lead at the top of the division but were given a hard game by improving Trowbridge Athletic.
The division’s leading scorer Chris Spurrey got yet another hat trick for the visitors with Kaylum Escott also scoring.
After leading 2-0 at the half Kieran Balchin scored for the home team but Rovers ran out 4-1 victors.
Weston Village Team Nathan FC 5 Lansdown Reserves FC 0
It wasn’t a great day for Lansdown as both teams were on the end of heavy defeats, the Reserves going down 5-0 to Weston Village – Team Nathan after a 2-0 half time deficit.
It was also the first time this season that the Reserves had failed to score. Thomas Hinton, Ioan Muresan, two from Ionut-Viorel Renate and another from Catalin Cobzaru doing the damage for the home team.
Whiteway FC 8 Keynsham Rangers FC 1
Whiteway FC continued to pressurise the two teams above them with another big victory, beating guests Keynsham Rangers 8-1.
Wins in five of the six games they have in hand on leaders Bath Rovers will give them the lead at the top. After taking a 4-1 lead at half time they ran out 8-1 winners.
Whiteway’s Ashton Muir opened the scoring with their top scorer, Gary Jones adding two before Charlie Myrie added the fourth. Rob Kearney having replied for Keynsham.
Cameron New scored at the beginning of the second half, an own goal, and goals from Harvey Kendrick and Bill Turner completing the scoring for Whiteway.
