Division One Round Up – Match Week 22 – Sunday 19th February

LAVIS TOP AFTER CALNE UNITED WITHDRAWAL

Griffin FC 2 v Semington FC 3

An entertaining game saw Semington FC come back from a 2-1 deficit at half time to take the game at Griffin FC with a 3-2 win.

The sides had drawn 2-2 in the reverse fixture last November with Semington’s Alex Shaftoe having scored twice. He was on target again in the first half after Griffin’s Matt Pawley and Max Weston had given them a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, substitute Harrison Simmonds and Jake Abbott scored for Semington to give them the win.

Old Road FC  1 v FC Box 3

FC Box were given a shock in the first half as Jack Dunn threatened to derail their unbeaten league record as Old Road led 1-0 at half time.

The tables were however turned in the second half as Spencer Dymond-Hall, Simon Gray and John Bazley were on target to give Box a 3-1 win on their second consecutive visit this year to the Beeches ground.

Two Weir Town FC 0 v Lavis FC 6

A convincing 6-0 win allowed Lavis FC who were catapulted to pole position following the recent withdrawal of Calne United to maintain top spot for the time being after leading 3-0 at half time. Jordan Pinder having scored the first two and Matt Purdy the third.

Early in the second half Jordan Pinder completed his hat trick with Stefan Brinzaru adding a fifth.

The final goal had to be referred to the dubious goals panel as Arthur Dolan’s shot after hitting the post and cannoned into the net after hitting Two Weir Town keeper Samuel Marquiss.

In line with Premier League guidance, the panel decided it was an own goal. Sorry Arthur.
