FC BOX CLOSING IN ON TOP SPOT, AFTER LAVIS DRAW A BLANK

Beeches FC 3 FC Trinity 0

After defeats in their previous two outings against Lavis FC and FC Box, Beeches made a welcomed return to winning ways with good result for third place side who in the reverse game at Bath based FC Trinity’s Lansdown pitch had to come from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

It seems yet again to have been a tight game with Beeches going in front 1-0 at the half before winning 3-0.

Two goals from Tom Blackman and one from the division’s joint leading scorer Steve Ball the scorers for Beeches.

FC Box 3 Old Road FC 1

Sam Whittock replied for Old Road after the break as Adam Mitchell also missed a second half penalty which had no impact on the result as Box maintained their unbeaten league record in their push for top spot.

Lavis FC 0 Two Weir Town FC 0

Leaders Lavis FC suffered a disappointing result away at Bath based opponents Two Weir Town who they had beaten 6-0 at Odd Down the previous week. However a week later Two Weir Town had clearly worked out how to stop their opponents on their on pitch at The Lye, Seend as neither team could make a breakthrough as they fought a a rare Sunday Morning goalless draw.

A second half penalty from the division’s joint top scorer Jordan Pinder was also missed as the result allowed second place FC Box to need to win only one of their four games in hand to leapfrog leaders Lavis.
