MATCH DAY 10 -Sunday 13 November 2022
Marshfield (Sunday) FC 2 Bath Rovers FC 6
Although Marshfield FC had held Bath Rovers FC to a 2-1 lead at the half a strong second half performance by the visitors saw them win 6-2 to maintain their unbeaten league run and top spot in Division Three of the Shoestrings chargrill sponsored Chippenham & Bath Sunday League.
George Ball scored twice for Marshfield with Chris Spurrey also scoring twice for the visitors along with Kaylum Escott, Thomas James Rosevear and two more from substitute Loui Robert.
Corsham Rovers FC 6 Trowbridge Athletic FC 3
An entertaining game saw both teams level 2-2 at the half but Corsham Rovers FC pulled away from visitors Trowbridge Athletic FC in the second period to take a 6-3 win. Four goals from Owen Thomson a major reason and goals from Callum Race and substitute Ciaran Taylor completed the scoring for Corsham. Goals from Leo Capindale and Charlie Watson along with a Corsham own goal being the response from Trowbridge.

Whiteway FC 3 Weston Village Team Nathan FC 0
Whiteway FC maintained the pressure on league leaders Bath Rovers FC as well as their unbeaten league record with a hard fought 3-0 victory over Weston Village after leading 1-0 at the half. Finishing with ten men did not help Weston Village. Goals from Gary Jones and substitutes Jack Lewington and Niall Christopher Lovelock giving Whiteway the advantage with Tyrone Mulholland having a strong performance.
Trowbridge Athletic FC 1 The Pewsham FC 3
The Pewsham FC continued their fine run of form, leading 1-0 at half time, away at Trowbridge Athletic, they extended that advantage to take the points with a 3-1 win in a feisty affair at the Notton House School pitch. Another game this week where the losing team finished with ten men following a red card as well as losing two players to the sin bin. Two goals from Aaron Burbidge and a Steven Browning goal for Pewsham too much for Trowbridge’s substitute Thomas William Robert’s goal in response.
Lansdown Reserves FC 3 Marshfield (Sunday) FC 0
Lansdown Reserves FC described their 3-0 win over Marshfield FC as their performance of the season to date as they consigned the visitors to a second consecutive defeat. Ewan Barnes and Peter Hutchinson giving Lansdown a 2-0 half time lead and substitute Curtis Jones completing the scoring for the home team.
Biddestone Athletic FC 4 Keynsham Rangers FC 6
In a high scoring affair at Biddestone, the home team held a narrow 4-3 half team lead before Keynsham Rangers added three more to win 6-3 in another feisty game. Yet again this week Biddestone Athletic finishing with ten men. Two goals from Benjamin Haines and goals from Dion Calway and Jay Watkin in the first half for Biddestone. Keynsham replied with a hat trick from their man of the match Nathan Jessop along with goals from Jake Fudge and Bradley Laver as well as an own goal.
Bath Rovers FC 8 Corsham Rovers 1
Bath Rovers continued their fine form this season as they raced into a 6-0 half time lead before running out 8-1 winners on the day at home to Corsham Rovers FC. Hat tricks from Chris Spurrey and Loui Robert along with goals from Fabian Mackney and Daniel Veal for Bath and a second half response from Corsham’s Owen Thomson completed the scoring.

Weston Village Team Nathan FC 1 Bath Rovers FC 9
Another high scoring 9 – 1 win from the League leaders saw then continue their good form this season. Weston Village had held them to a 3-1 lead at the break with Connor Rowlands being on target for the home team. A strong second half increased Bath’s lead, Chris Spurrey claiming a double hat trick, Loui Robert two more and Fabian Mackney completed the scoring for the visitors.
Trowbridge Athletic FC 3 Corsham Rovers FC 2
With a strong wind and rain making playing conditions difficult it was no surprise the game remained goalless at the half. The second half then saw both teams score twice as play went end to end with little between them before a controversial penalty at the end of the game saw a Corsham Rovers Sin Bin and a Trowbridge Athletic goal to take a 3-2 narrow win and deny Corsham a share of the points. Nathan Robbins, Charlie Watson and Patrick Watkinson on target for Trowbridge with Owen Thomson and Ciaran Taylor replying for Corsham.
TSW FC 4 Biddestone Athletic FC 2
TSW FC surprised their opponents as they shook off recent poor form to race into a 3-0 half time lead and run out 4-2 winners on a day they recorded their first win of the season. Two goals from William Ludwell and one each from Alexander Holmes and Joshua Sheppard earning the victory over Biddestone Athletic FC for whom Kurt Baston and substitute Ben Thomas responded.
Keynsham Rangers FC 2 The Pewsham FC 5
After a good win the previous week, Keynsham Rangers FC were brought back to earth when visitors Pewsham FC raced into a 4-0 half time lead. Keynsham did have the better of the second period scoring twice but the visitors ran out 5-2 winners. Pewsham’s Rhys Edwards scoring twice along with Aaron Burbidge, Steven Browning and a Keynsham own goal. Keyhsham’s second half response coming from Nathan Jessop and Jake Whittle

Whiteway FC 13 Trowbridge Athletic FC 2
Trowbridge Athletic FC had held one of the division’s form teams to a 4-1 half time lead but were somewhat overwhelmed in the second half as Whiteway FC ran out 13-2 winners. Four goals each from Jack Lewington and Tyrone Mulholland, goals from Richard Lewis and Jack Williams, with substitutes Ashton Muir scoring two and Gary Jones one. Jacob Thwaites and substitute Samuel Jones replying for the visitors.
Weston Village Team Nathan FC 5 Keynsham Rangers FC 3
Weston Village got back to winning ways as they beat Keynsham 5-3 after holding a 4 -1 half time lead. Two first half goals from Thomas Hinton and Connor Rowlands along with a second half goal from Myles Lofthouse were enough for Weston Village to take the points.
Keynsham’s Jake Fudge scored twice along with Daniel Thompson for the visitors.
TSW FC 0 Lansdown Reserves FC 4
A strong first half performance saw visitors Lansdown Reserves FC take a 3-0 lead half time lead away at TSW FC who were a lot better in the second period, but still ended up on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat, which gave the victors another clean sheet. They were helped by a Jake Banks hat trick and a goal from Peter Hutchinson as Lansdown completed the double over their opponents having beat them 3-0 at home early in the season.
Marshfield (Sunday) FC 5 Corsham Rovers FC 4
In an exciting end to end game Marshfield FC who had taken a 3-1 lead by half time needed to hold on as Corsham Rovers FC fought back to within a goal. Marshfield eventually winning 5-4 thanks to four goals from Samuel Bean and one from substitute Ashley Corbin. Corsham responding with an Owen Thomson hat trick and a Thomas Clifford goal.
Bath Rovers FC 4 Biddestone Athletic FC 3
League leaders Bath Rovers FC were made to fight all the way by a resurgent Biddestone Athletic FC outfit, leading 2-1 at the half they withstood a second half fightback by Athletic to win 4-3 despite finishing with only 10 men after a red card. Two goals from Chris Spurrey, one each from Dayne D’Alessandro and Khaled Harwood for Bath with a two-goal response from Benjamin Haines and one from Jay Watkin for Biddestone.

Whiteway FC continued their impressive chase for the Division Three league title with a strong performance against an in form Biddestone Athletic netting four goals in each half without reply in their 8-0 win. Two goals in each half from Gary Jones, one in each half from Harvey Kendrick and a first half goal from Niall Christopher Lovelock and a second half own goal completed the scoring to complete a double after an early season 9-2 away win.
Weston Village Team Nathan FC 1 Marshfield (Sunday) FC 4
Marshfield who had tasted defeat at home to Weston Village – Team Nathan earlier in the season 2-1 ensured they did not lose out again taking a 3-1 half time lead to win 4-1 at the final whistle. The reliable Samuel Bean scored twice with Joe Hylands and Oliver Glover getting one each for Marshfield . Ionut-Viorel Ranete having replied for Weston Village
Trowbridge Athletic FC 2 Keynsham Rangers FC 7
Having beaten their hosts Trowbridge Athletic FC 5-1 earlier in the season, Keynsham Rangers FC had already reached that scoreline by half time going on to win 7-2 for the season double. Hat tricks from both Jake Fudge and Nathan Jessop along with a Sam Russell goal for Trowbridge with Leo Carpindale and Jack Watkinson replying for Trowbridge.
Lansdown Reserves FC 1 Bath Rovers FC 4
In the first of two consecutive games against the league leaders Bath Rovers FC, Lansdown Reserves were unable to make home advantage pay despite taking the lead from a Jake Taylor goal. Bath pegged the home team back and levelled by half time then scoring three more in the second half. Two goals from Chris Spurrey, along with one each from Lee Rudland and substitute Loui Robert for Bath giving them the points in a close fought game.
Corsham Rovers FC 2 TSW FC 3
Having won 5-2 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season Corsham Rovers were surprised by a revitalised TSW FC. With TSW leading 1-0 at thebreak, they had a Max Welsh hat trick to thank as the man of the match led them to a 3-2 win. Corsham responded with goals from Tom Fowie and Owen Thomson in a closely contested game.

Keynsham Rangers FC 3 Weston Village Team Nathan FC 1
Having gone down 5-3 in the reverse game in December, Keynsham Rangers made home advantage pay against guests Weston Village – Team Nathan as they took the points with a 3-1 win after leading 2-1 at the half. Two goals from Nathan Jessop and one from Bradley Laver were enough to see off the response from Ionut-Viorel Ranete.
Bath Rovers FC 6 Lansdown Reserves FC 3
On an extremely muddy Batheaston Recreation pitch, Bath Rovers FC were made to battle again, against Lansdown Reserves, the team they had beaten 4-1 the previous Sunday. After taking a 3-1 lead in the first half Bath maintained their lead in the division with a 6-3 victory. Four goals from Kaylum Escott and one each from Chris Spurrey and Stefan Woods outscoring the Lansdown response of two goals from Theo Martin and Jake Banks.

Weston Village Team Nathan FC 2 Corsham Rovers FC 4
Having successfully beaten their opponents earlier in the season in their away game, Weston Village – Team Nathan must have been confident going into the game.
However, Corsham surprised them and took a 2-0 half time and holding their nerve as Weston Village fought back with two goals from Ioan Muresan to score two more of their own to take a 4-2 win. Two goals From the reliable Owen Thomson along with goals from Callum Race and Shaun Mitchell giving Corsham the advantage.
Trowbridge Athletic FC 6 TSW FC 1
A strong performance from Trowbridge Athletic FC ensured they completed a double over the resurgent TSW. Four goals from Kieran Balchin, along with Joshua Mockeridge and Lenny Gale for Trowbridge with an Alexander Holmes reply for TSW completed the scoring as the visitors suffered a 6-1 defeat.
The Pewsham FC 4 Lansdown Reserves FC 1
For the third week running Lansdown Reserves FC had to play against a top three team, this time they travelled to The Pewsham FC and despite Craig Rogers giving them an early lead they were behind 2-1 at half time and 4-1 at the final whistle. For Pewsham an Aaron Burbidge hat trick and a Sam Parmenter goal ensured they maintained third place.
Keynsham Rangers FC 0 Biddestone Athletic 5
Having won the reverse game 6-4, Keynsham Rangers must have been confident in another favourable result. Biddestone Athletic however had other ideas, taking a 2-0 half time lead they ran out 5-0 winners with a Jason Cole hat trick and goals from Kurt Baston and Tom Webb.

Bath Rovers FC 0 Whiteway FC 4
In an eagerly awaited clash between the division’s top two teams, unbeaten second place Whiteway FC came away with a 4-0 win over Bath Rovers despite their opponents having numerous opportunities and for parts of the game being the better team.
Whiteway are however a very resilient team and took a 1-0 first half lead before scoring three more to win 4-0 and are now clear favourites to win the division in view of their six games in hand on the leaders. Two goals from Niall Christopher Lovelock, and goals from Jake Ford and Gary Jones scoring for the visitors.
Biddestone Athletic 5 The Pewsham FC 2
Third place Pewsham FC were brought down to earth when the home team took a 2-0 half time lead. Although Pewsham fought back in the second half, Biddestone Athletic maintained their recent good form to win 5-2. Biddestone’s goals coming from a Kurt Baston hat trick and goals from Jay Watkin and substitute Dion Calway. Aaron Burbidge and Carl Ledbury with second half goals for Pewsham.
Lansdown Reserves FC 2 Corsham Rovers FC 3
A frustrating day for the home team Lansdown Reserves FC who yet to win in 2023 went down in a close game to Corsham Rovers 3-2 after a goalless first half. Corsham goals coming from Aron Byfield, Owen Thomson and Shaun Mitchell with Ryan Metcalfe and Marcus Chapman replying for Lansdown.
TSW FC 1 Weston Village Team Nathan FC 1
Bottom placed TSW FC went behind to a Tommy Bowen goal in the first half for Weston Village but produced a gritty second half performance with substitute Joshua Shepard’s goal drawing them level at 1-1 and collecting their first draw of the season. Weston Village at least broke a run of defeats for their first point of 2023.
