Premier Division Round Up – Match Week 21 – Sunday 12th February
MELKSHAM & KINGSMEAD WIN TO KEEP PRESSURE ON SCOOP
AFC Melksham 4 Lansdown FC 0
Defending Premier Division champions, AFC Melksham are finding their best form at the right time of the season as they look to maintain pressure on leaders Scoop FC. A comfortable 4-0 win over their Bath based opponents Lansdown FC saw them claim a fourth straight victory.
Melksham had the game won at half time as they raced to a 4-0 lead thanks to goals from Jack Baker, Zac Hillier, Derek Wheeler and an own goal.
Lansdown deserve credit for their hard work in the second half as they stopped Melksham from extending their lead and increasing their goals scored for tally.
Royal Oak 1 Kingsmead FC 4
A struggling Royal Oak FC put up a strong first half performance as they held second placed Kingsmead FC 1-1 at the half time break.
Kingsmead however broke away in the second period to maintain their hopes for top spot in the merged league.
Jake Duckett had scored for Royal Oak but an Andy Keen hat trick and a goal from Ben Wych for Kingsmead were too much for the home team.
Team Nathan AFC 2 Gringos FC 3
Despite holding a 2-0 half time lead, Team Nathan AFC could not hold on to find their first win of the season as Gringos FC fought back with three late second half goals to claim a 3-2 success and take the points on offer.
Goals from Max Nineham and Leyton Sharpe had given Team Nathan a 2-0 interval lead which they held until the 64th minute when Daniel Harrison halved the deficit.
Callum Parfitt’s 82nd minute effort restored parity for Gringo’s who stole all 3 points when substitute Bailee Harrison popped up in the 92nd minute to snatch a winner and deny Team Nathan what would have been a deserved share of the spoils.
