Division Three Round Up – Match Week 24 – Sunday 5th March

TURNER STRIKES LATE TO HAND WHITEWAY VITAL WIN

Whiteway FC 1 Corsham Rovers FC 0

Whiteway appear well on the way to snatch the Division three title from Bath Rovers as they ground out a 1-0 victory over Corsham after a goalless first half. With six games in hand on the leaders and only 13 points behind, they are in a good position.

The sides had met in the knockout cup earlier in the season when again Whiteway had a narrow 3-2 win.

Whiteway had to wait until the 75th minute before Bill Turner broke down Corsham’s resistance to take all three points.


Keynsham Rangers FC v Bath Rovers FC

Game awarded to Bath Rovers as opponents Keynsham Rangers were unable to raise a team. The 3 points gained keeps Chris Spurrey’s side at the top of the table for the time being.


Biddestone Athletic 4 Lansdown Reserves 3

After two successive heavy defeats, Lansdown Reserves who had been 1-0 down at half time were looking to take all three points as the led with time running out. However, a late come back from Biddestone Athletic saw them take the points with a 4-3 win despite finishing with 10 men. 

A Jay Watkins hat trick and a Tom Webb goal for Biddestone. Harry Newell, Ben Chapman and Peter Hutchinson scoring for the Reserves.


The Pewsham FC 2 Marshfield (Sunday) FC 2

Both The Pewsham FC and Marshfield FC have had a good run of form recently and are currently third and fourth in Division Three. The home team had a 2-0 advantage by half time courtesy of an Ali Moor- Badell goal and a deflected Steven Browning shot which went down as an own goal.

Marshfield however were not dismayed as they staged a second half comeback to share the points with a 2-2 draw, both goals coming from Collom McCleary at Pewsham’s Goatacre ground.


Weston Village (Team Nathan) v TSW FC 1

After holding a 2-1 half time lead Weston Village – Team Nathan scored two more in the second half to take the points. Earlier this year the sides had shared the points at TSW 1-1. Home advantage has been key for the Village in recent weeks.

The Villagers goals coming from Ionut-Viorel Ranete, Ioan Muresan and two from substitute Tyreece Chevolleau. TSW’s first half response coming from Josh Shepherd.
