Division Two Round Up – Match Week 25 – Sunday 12th March
LION & HOURGLASS HAVE SPIRES IN THEIR SIGHTS
Fox & Hounds (Warminster) FC 2 The British Lion FC 4
The top of the table clash between Fox & Hounds (Warminster) and The British Lion went the way of the latter who moved though the gears in the second half to claim a 4-2 success.
After a close first half which saw the teams level at 1-1 , British Lion maintained their unbeaten league run courtesy of four goals from Jake Waters which also gave him the lead in the division goal scoring table.
Jake Owen and Braden Humphrey’s responding for Fox & Hounds.
British Lion are now just one point from the top with three games in hand.
Spires Athletic FC 0 Hourglass FC 5
Spires Athletic who only a few weeks ago looked invincible suffered another setback in their push for promotion in a table top clash with Hourglass, who had lost just one league game to date.
After holding a narrow 1-0 lead at the half, the visitors scored four more in the second half to take a 5-0 victory. Being reduced to 10 men did not help Spires as a Matt Tilley hat trick and two goals from Jamie Hall did the damage for Hourglass.
A meeting between Hourglass and British Lion next month is likely to indicate where the title will go.
