Division Three Round Up – Match Week 29 – Sunday 9th April

WHITEWAY FAVOURITES TO CLAIM DIVISION THREE TITLE

Weston Village (Team Nathan) FC 1 Whiteway FC 4

Whiteway FC continued their push for the division title with a convincing 4-1 away win over Weston Village. Leading 4-0 at half time with two goals from Ashton Muir and one each from Harvey Kendrick and Jake Ford. Weston Village did stem the tide in the second half and scored themselves through Tyreece Chevolleau.

With three games in hand and trailing leaders Bath Rovers by only four points, Whiteway are now in an excellent position to take the title.

Corsham Rovers 2  The Pewsham FC 0

After a last minute home defeat the previous week, Corsham Rovers FC faced one of the division’s top three teams in The Pewsham, who had beaten them 5-2 last October. Despite that, Corsham’s recent form has been good. They continued that good form with a 2-0 home win thanks to goals in each half from Luke Thomson and Regan Gardiner.

Both teams have progressed to the last eight of the Subsidiary Cup with Corsham at home to division two Forest Renegades and Pewsham away to division one FC Trinity.

TSW FC 1 Marshfield (Sunday) FC 1

Despite sitting bottom of the division, TSW surprised fourth placed Marshfield, holding them to a battling 1-1 draw after a goalless first half. William Ludwell scoring for TSW, with Kieran Lucas replying for Marshfield.

Trowbridge Athletic 5  Lansdown Reserves 4

After a high scoring last minute win the previous Sunday, Lansdown were involved in another high scoring game but this week lost out with their opponents coming back to claim the victory. Trowbridge had Kieran Balchin to thank for four of the goals along with substitute Thomas W Roberts.

After Trowbridge had opened the scoring, Luke Priddle equalised for Lansdown leaving the game level at half time. Trowbridge then took a 3-1 lead before substitute Marcus Chapman scored with an overhead kick and substitutes Peter Hutchinson and Jake Banks gave Lansdown the lead before Trowbridge won the game 5-4 with two late goals.
