TWO KEYS WINS FOR HOURGLASS LEAVE THEM AS TITLE FAVOURITES

Hourglass FC 2 Spires Athletic FC 0

In their top of the table clash at Hourglass’s Nursteed Road home, Spires Athletic lost ground on their two main rivals for the title as they went down 2-0 to one of those rivals, Both goals for Hourglass came in the first half from Jamie Hall and Calleb Hollow. Despite having had as much play in the game as their opponent, Spires could not find the net. The loss will make it extremely difficult for Spires to take a top two spot.

All eyes will be on the British Lion and Hourglass clash on Sunday morning which is likely to determine who finishes where in the division.

The British Lion FC 4 Forest Renegades 3

British Lion FC kept in the hunt for the division title with a hard fought 4-3 home win at Green Lane over Forest Renegades. The sides were level 2-2 at half time but Lion pulled away in the second half to take a 4-3 win with goals from Andy Rossiter and Glynn Rowles along with two from Robbie Whyte.

Renegades’ top scorer Tom A’Court collected a hat trick for the visitors.

HOURGLASS TAKE LEAD IN TITLE RACE

The British Lion FC  0 Hourglass FC 1 

Hourglass FC got themselves into the driving seat for top spot in the division with a hard fought 1-0 away victory at Green Lane home of The British Lion in this table top clash between the two Devizes based rivals.

After a goalless first half a Zac Messenger goal gave visitors Hourglass the vital goal to take the three points.

After a 2-2 draw, Hourglass now hold a crucial advantage with this win if both teams finish level at the end of the season. Both will no doubt be hoping future opponents will not deflect their ambitions.                                                                                  


Westbury Celtic FC 1 Kingfisher FC 3

Kingfisher FC finished their league season on a high as they beat Westbury Celtic 3-1 to complete a double over them. Unbeaten in their last seven league games they will clearly have high hopes for next season.

Edward Baldwin scored to give Kingfisher a 1-0 half time lead. A second goal from the same player gave Kingfisher a 2-0 lead before Max Bishop pulled a goal back for Westbury. Kingfisher’s top scorer Adam Loveridge completed the scoring for the visitors in their win over mid table rivals.
