Described by supporters of both teams as the game of the season in his division, Title contenders Hourglass and The British Lion battled to a 2-2 draw in this Devizes derby. British Lion had held a 2-1 half time lead, but home team Hourglass came back to secure a point at their Nursteed Road pitch.
Emilio Menghini and Liam Mortimer had given British Lion the advantage but Matt Tilley and Alex Singh for Hourglass cancelled this out. Both teams are now level at the top of the division Along with Spires Athletic. Crucially both teams have a game in hand on Spires and British Lion hold a game in hand as well on Hourglass. An upcoming meeting between the two teams at British Lion’s Green Lane home is likely to decide the title.

Farrington Albion 4 The British Lion FC 6
British Lion continued to press their claim for the Division Two title but were clearly made to work for it on their visit to Farrington. Lion were held by Albion 2-2at half time before the dismissal of an Albion player in the 60th minute gave Lion the advantage as they ran out 6-4 winners.
Lion scorers were two goals from Emilio Menghini and Liam Mortimer and one each from the division’s top scorer Jake Waters and Jonathan Webb. Bradley Whittock scored a hat trick for the home team along with a goal from Harry Meredith.
Spires Athletic FC 12 Warminster Athletic FC 0
Spires Athletic FC also kept in contention at the top of the division with a comprehensive 12-0 victory over Warminster Athletic FC after leading 4-0 at half time. A disappointing final game this season for the visitors.
Two goals each from Aiden Jackson, Hayden Campbell, Joshua Bolwell and substitute Zachary Baskerville along with goals from Daniel Billett, Mickey Jenkins, Daniel Leaney and Macawley Chamberlain accounted for Spires goal scorers.
A game on Thursday evening with rivals Hourglass may well eliminate one of the teams from the title race. If Spires are successful they must then meet another rival, The British Lion the following Thursday.
