ROVERS THUMP LOCAL RIVALS LANSDOWN

Bath Rovers who were were promoted as Third division runners up have made a good start to life in Division One. Following a 5-3 away victory the previous week they had a high scoring victory over fellow Bath based team, Lansdown at their Odd Down pitch.

Top scorer last season Chris Spurrey opened the tally, before Deklan Davis, Ethan Hallet and Thomas James Rosevear gave the Rovers a 4-0 half time lead.

Ethan Hallet added his second to extended the Rovers lead to 5-0, Sam Mason added a sixth as Deklan Davis got his second and the team’s seventh before Thomas James Rosevear also got his second and the team’s eighth and final goal.


Beeches FC 3 Fox & Hounds (Warminster) FC 1

SUBLIME MASSON STRIKE SETS BEECHES UP FOR VICTORY

Aaron Masson scored a sublime opening goal, which was described as a contender for goal of the season, as Beeches took a 1-0 lead into half time in their home tie against promoted Fox & Hounds (Warminster).

Steve Ball extended their lead before Jack Clayton gave then a 3-0 lead.

Jake Owen pulled a goal back for the visitors to leave the final score at 3-1 and Beeches with an unbeaten start to the season.


The Green Dragon FC 1 Whiteway FC 2

DRAGON SUNK BY JONES DOUBLE

Promoted Bath based Whiteway continued their unbeaten start to the season with a narrow away win at The Green Dragon (formerly The Royal Oak) who had been relegated last season. Neither side could find the net in the first half. The teams going in with a 0-0 score line.

Whiteway’s leading scorer last season Gary Jones gave them the lead on 68 minutes and just 3 minutes late he doubled his teams advantage. Green Dragon substitute Jed Kirkwood pulled a goal back for the West Lavington based team in the 82nd minute.

Whiteway however held on to take the points with a 2-1 win.


Two Weir Town FC 0 Old Road FC 3

AWAY DAY JOY FOR OLD ROAD

After a surprise 5-3 home defeat last week to Bath Rovers. Old Road travelled to Keynsham to renew their rivalry with Two Weir Town following two close games last season.

Matthew Sallows gave Old Road a first half 1-0 lead. Substitute Aaron Holbrook added a second for the visitors before Izaak Sallows completed a 3-0 away win for the visitors.
