AFC IVY CLIMB TO THE TOP OF THE TABLE
AFC Ivy are another new team who have made an impressive start to the season with their second win. At their Odd Down home, they beat Weston Village (Team Nathan) 4-1.
Balazs Boda opened their scoring as they took a 1-0 lead into half time.
Shane Robbins increased Ivy’s lead after half time before Kavin Boadi hit back for Weston Village. Shane Robbins second and Ivy’s third was followed by a Ben Millett goal to give the home team a 4-1 win.
Lacock Athletic FC 5 TSW FC 2
LACOCK ATHLETIC WIN AGAIN
Lacock Athletic maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 5-2 home win over TSW who were playing their first game this season.
David Payne and Cameron Walden had opened the scoring for Lacock before Max Welsh hit back for TSW to leave the score at 2-1 for Lacock at the half.
Jay Watkin extended the Lacock lead but Max Welsh again pulled a goal back for his second of the day. Jay Watkin however scored another two for his hat trick and a 5-2 win on the day for Lacock.
Lansdown Reserves FC 3 Trowbridge Athletic FC 3
JAKE, BANKS POINR FOR LANSDOWN IN THRILLER
In an exciting game at Lansdown Playing Fields the home team had Jake Banks to thank as they battled back to share the points after being two goals down.
Jake Banks opened the scoring for the home team, Lansdown Reserves before Kieran Baldwin equalised for Trowbridge and Oliver Letteboer gave the visitors a 2-1 half time lead.
Lewis Coles extended the visitors lead after half time before the home team’s hero Jake Banks scored twice more to complete his hat trick and give Lansdown Reserves a share of the points with a 3-3 draw.
Warminster Athletic FC 2 Manor FC 3
MANOR HOLD ON TO BEAT WARMINSTER
Manor FC continued their unbeaten start to the season with a narrow 3-2 away victory at Warminster Athletic.
Warminster had taken the lead through Tyler Cuff before Mitchell Furze equalised and then Tyreece Chevolleau gave the visitors a 2-1 lead at half time.
Tyreece Chevolleau extended the visitors lead before Ethan Green pulled a goal back for Warminster. Manor however held on to their 3-2 lead despite having to play with ten men following a red card.
Forest Albion FC v Team Nathan AFC – Home Walkover
FOREST ALBION AWARDED OPENING LEAGUE FIXTURE
Melksham based Forest Albion would have been looking forward to their opening fixture at home to Bath based Team Nathan AFC.
Unfortunately for the hosts things didn’t go as planned, Team Nathan turned up at the Forest Community Centre with only 7 players, so made the spur of the moment decision to forfeit the game, meaning that the home team were awarded the match and the 3 points that were on offer.
