PEWSHAM PAY THE PENALTY

In an exciting Wiltshire Sunday County Cup first round game at Forest Community Centre, newcomers Forest Albion overcame The Pewsham by virtue of penalties after Pewsham had fought back from 3-1 down to claim a 3-3 draw at full time.

Pewsham had taken an early lead through Steven Browning but two goals from Josh Flynn gave Albion a 2-1 half time lead.

Dougie Hewer then extended Albion’s lead to 3-1 before Aaron Clegg and an unfortunate own goal brought the teams level at 3-3.

With no further goals the game went to penalties. Albion proved to be the stronger in the shoot out taking a 3-1 win to progress to the next round. Josh Flynn, Luke Whittard and Steve Badger scoring the successful spot kicks.
