Combe Down FC 5 The Pewsham FC 2

PEWSHAM MAKE COMBE WORK FOR WIN NUMBER 6

Combe Down are level on points with Chippenham & Bath League, Division Two leaders Corsham Rovers after both teams won again.  The Downers, hosted a Pewsham FC side who went into the game on the back of a fine 4-1 victory over Marshfield.  The visitors to Odd Down were unable to recapture that form as they suffered a 5-2 loss.

Dyllian Angishan-Law saw his opener for Combe Down wiped out by Kadir Ayhan. Drew Lovelock reclaimed the lead for the hosts, but once again Pewsham leveled matters with Dean Fry making it 2 each.

Dontae Swaby-Depass grabbed the lead for Combe Down for a third time, and on this occasion there was no coming back for the Pewsham who fell further behind courtesy of a Morgan Henry strike.

A second of the morning for Dyllian Angishan-Law after the break, sealed what was in the end a comfortable 5-2 win for the hosts.


Corsham Rovers FC 7 Westbury Rovers FC 0

HAFFENDEN NETS ANOTHER TREBLE FOR LEADERS

Corsham Rovers appear to be the team to beat in the Division.  A 8-0 victory away at Westbury Rovers saw them take their winning start of the season to 6 successive wins and keeps them ahead of Combe Down on goal difference and having played one less game.

Another 3 timer from top scorer Elliot Haffenden took his league tally to 16 in five starts.  Owen Thomson helped himself to a brace, with singles for Jamie Ellis, Harry James and Morgan Ackerman made up the victors tally.


Kingfisher FC 5 Forest Renegades 0

LOVERIDGE NETS FOUR AS FISHERMEN HIT 5

Having pulled off a surprise 3-0 victory over the previously unbeaten Griffin FC last weekend Forest Renegades would have been confident of getting something from their trip to a Kingfisher FC outfit who had lost their previous three league matches, however the Fishermen had other ideas and returned to winning way thanks to a resounding 5-0 win.

Adam Loveridge was Renegades chief tormenter as he scored 4 of Kingfisher’s five goals.  His first of the match separated the teams at the break.

Loveridge netted goals 2 and 3 before Ben Haines got in on the act with his team’s fourth of the morning, before Loveridge completed his red letter day with his fourth and Kingfisher’s fifth of the game.   


Marshfield (Sunday) FC 3 Farrington Albion FC 1

MARSHFIELD CLAIM FARRINGTON LEAGUE DOUBLE

In recent times Marshfield (Sunday) haven’t been able to buy a win, their last coming over a month ago when they beat Farrington Albion 5-4, so the return match against the same opponents was welcomed chance to see them grab a second win of the season and they duly obliged with a 3-1 triumph.

Collom McLeary edged Marshfield into the lead, but the hosts were pegged back when Jack Jenkin on his debut restored parity for the visitors.  A second for McLeary saw Marshfield retake the lead before the interval.

The next goal in the second period was always going to be important and it eventually went the way of Marshfield’s Ashley Corbyn whose first goal for the club sealed their 3-1 win.   


Semington FC 5 Griffin FC 10

SEMINGTON NET FIVE BUT CONCEDE 10 AS GRIFFIN WIN

Semington FC may have scored five goals in their match against Griffin FC, however they weren’t enough to earn Chris Berrelly’s side victory as the visitors to Little Marsh plundered ten against their hosts to leave them wondering how they ever lost a game 10-5.

Griffin who were beaten by Forest Renegades last time out, made sure they didn’t suffer the same fate as they raced to a 4-0 lead Matt Pawley scoring three and Dave Walton adding the other.   An Chris Berelley effort and an own goal saw Semington get themselves back in the contest.

Not to be out gunned by his strike partner, Dave Walton added a couple more before half time to complete his treble and give Griffin a 6-2 half time lead.

Semington got back I nthe game after the break with goals from Sam Malone and Dan Rimmer narrowing the gap to 2 goals. Griffin quickly regained their 4 goal advantage as Lou Bollard and a fourth from Matt Pawley made it 8-4.

Ian Dowell scored number five for Semington, however it was to count for very little as Griffin’s victory was sealed with goals for Max Western and Dave Walton to finish on four for the game along with strike partner Matt Pawley.
