LEADERS COME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT SEMINGTON
Chippenham & Bath League, Division Two pacesetters Corsham Rovers may have picked up a fifth successive win of the season, but their 3-2 victory away at Semington FC was anything but convincing as the hosts dominated a first half and thanks to an Olly Gee goal sent the leaders into the break trailing.
After strong words from the stand in gaffer at half time it was Corsham who came out with the bit between their teeth. Midfielder, Jamie Ellis playing a threaded through ball to Elliot Haffenden who rounded the keeper and finished with aplomb to level the scores at 1-apeice.
Corsham Rovers found trailing for a second time in the game when a deflected shot fired across goal and unfortunately struck Callum Howard who couldn’t get out of the way in time.
Parity was restored for a second time when that man Jamie Ellis again danced through the Semington midfield before laying the ball off to Jake Dodger who opened his Corsham account in fine style by smashing a long range shot into the top corner of the net.
With only a few minutes remaining tactician Morgan Akerman changed up the formation bring Elliot Haffenden back on who after great work from Jake Dodge found himself with a tap in at the far post to win Corsham the game and keep them undefeated in the league.
Combe Down FC 8 Farrington Albion FC 0
GR-EIGHT COMBE DOWN BEAT ALBION WITH EASE
Combe Down remain in second place in the table and on the coattails of leaders Corsham Rovers after their 8-0 triumph over Farrington Albion who were unable to build on their first league win of the season the previous Sunday when the beat The Pewsham 2-0.
Combe Down were 3-0 up at half time thanks to a goal apiece from Kean Hayward, Morgan Henry and Drew Lovelock.
Dontae Swaby-Depass made it 4-0 before two goals from Morgan Henry saw him complete his hat trick and make it 6-0.
A second for Dontae Swaby-Depass took his tally for the season to five and a first ever goal from Fenton Davey took the final score to 8-0.
Forest Renegades FC 3 Griffin FC 0
PARMLEY & MORRIS FIRE RENEGADES TO SHOCK WIN
Forest Renegades claimed the result of the day with a 3-0 victory over the previously unbeaten Griffin FC who had started the day in second place in the standings, but dropped to third after the shock defeat.
On a day of firsts for Renegades it was Lyndon Parmley who put the hosts in front with his first ever goal for the club before Jamie Morris made it 2-0 at the break with his first ever goal for the team.
The second half saw Renegades consolidate what they had and finally they put the game to bed thanks to a second of the morning from Lyndon Parmley.
Olympic Victoria FC 3 Kingfisher FC 2
VICTORIA AMUSED WITH LATEST WIN
With, Olympic Victoria unable to use their pitch at Odd Down Sports Field they hastily transferred their match with Kingfisher FC to Lansdown as a 3-2 win for the hosts saw them duly rewarded for their efforts in getting the match played.
Olympic Victoria fell behind to a Josh Pullin, but thanks to a Ciaran Llewelyn effort the managed to fashioned an equaliser before half time.
The hosts took the lead courtesy of Rob Grey and they extended their lead to 3-1 when Chris Rogers found the net. Kingfisher and in particular Ed Baldwin made things interesting when he reduced the deficit, but his goal was too little, too late as Olympic Victoria managed to see the game out and claim a 3 points.
