SUNDAY CUP HOLDERS KINGSMEAD, BREZZE INTO NEXT ROUND

Bedminster Down of the Bristol Premier Sunday Football League Division Two must have had some worries in having to face last season’s Somerset Sunday Cup winners Kingsmead.

Quite rightly as Kingsmead raced into a 4-0 half time lead. Bedminster did restrict their opponents to a further goal in the second half as Kingsmead ran out 5-0 winners to progress to Round three.

A Charlie Saunders hat trick and goals from Rhys Talmarsh and Ryan Rudland doing the damage for defending champions Kingsmead.


Spirit FC 4 PF Loco FC 7

LOCO DEFEAT BATTLING SPIRIT

Spirit FC of the Bridgewater & District Sunday Football League certainly lived up to their name as they battled last year’s losing semi-finalists PF Loco.

Loco opened the scoring from Angus Williamson but Spirit hit back to take the lead with two goals. Angus Williamson added his second to equalise before Andrew Gardener scored to give Loco a 3-2 half time lead.

Matthew Curnock then scored to extend Loco’s lead to 4-2 before Spirit pulled another goal back at 4-3.

Nico Ingles then gave Loco breathing space with two goals to extend their lead to 6-3 before Angus Williamson claimed his hat trick and a 7-3 lead.

Spirit however were not finished as the scored again to leave the final score at 7-4 for the visitors who move to Round Three.


Winscombe Veterans AFC 1 Whiteway FC 16

VETERANS CRUSHED BY RAMPANT WHITEWAY

In a somewhat one-sided game Whiteway visited Winscombe Veterans of the Somerset FA Legends League and the visitors ran riot as they crushed their hosts 16-1

With 15 minutes gone Division One leaders Whiteway had already taken a 6-0 lead with goals from Joseph Hallsworth (7), Aiden Maslen (8). Cameron New (10) Gary Jones (13) and Ashton Muir (14&15).

Gary Jones added his second after 32 minutes and Tyrone Mullholland scored after 33 minutes with Gary Jones completing a hat trick on 41 minutes to give the visitors a 9-0 half time lead.

Gary Jones then scored his fourth in the 48th minute before the Veterans pulled a goal back.

Ashton Muir completed his hat trick in the 59th minute to extend the lead to 11-1.

Further goals from substitute Connor Scarrott in the 62nd and 68th minutes, a fifth Gary Jones goal in the 69th minute, substitute Finn Forster in the 76th minute and a final goal from Jack Williams in the 78th minute completed the 16-1 rout.


Lansdown FC 2 Taunton North Robbins FC 3

NORTH ROBBINS HIT BACK TO BEAT LANSDOWN

Lansdown welcomed Taunton North Robbins of the Somerset Sunday Football League Division One.

Despite taking the lead from Jake Clemmit they fell to 3-1 down by half time.

Although Jake Clemmit scored again in the second half they could not pull a further goal back as the Robbins progressed to round three.


Olympic Victoria FC 1 Ash Park Rangers FC 3

VICTORIA SEE CUP DREAM ENDED BY ASH PARK

After their convincing victory in the last round of the Somerset Sunday Cup. Olympic Victoria could not repeat it again as they welcomed Ash Park Rangers of the Bridgewater & District Sunday League.

Down 3-0 by half time to goals from Aaron Steven (15), Lee Hillier (32) and an unknown scorer they did pull a goal back in the second half through Rob Gray but the visitors held on to go through to Round Three.


Puriton FC 5 AFC Ivy 0

AFC IVY SENT PACKING FROM SUNDAY CUP

Puriton FC of the Bridgewater & District Sunday League who had been given a walk over in the last round by Lansdown Reserves welcomed AFC Ivy, unbeaten in the third division this season.

Although Puriton held a 1-0 lead at half time through Tom Andrew after 20 minutes, goals from Jacob Collard in the 58th minute and Gregory Turner in the 61st minute, and two final goals from Jarrad Cave in the 79th and 84th minutes saw the home team through to Round Three


Ramblers FC 8 Farrington Albion FC 4

RAMBLERS EASE TO FARRINGTON WIN

Ramblers FC of the Bridgewater & District Sunday League proved too strong for Farrington Albion in an exciting and high scoring game.

Ramblers opened the scoring before Oakley Rawlings equalised and Joe Presley gave them the lead. Ramblers then scored four more times to go in at half time with a 5-2 lead.

A further goal extended the lead to 6-2 before Alex Newbold scored to reduce the lead to 6-3. Ramblers scored again as did Will Gould for Albion, Ramblers progressing 8-4 to the next round.
