Bath Road Wanderers FC 1 AFC Ivy 3

100% AFC IVY REMAIN TOP OF THE TABLE

Bath based AFC Ivy remained in pole position of the Chippenham & Bath League, Third Division after their 3-1 triumph away at Bath Road Wanderers saw them claim a fourth successive 3 pointer, which in turn maintained their 100 start to the season.

Ben Millett’s goal for AFC Ivy separated the teams at the interval.

Henry Shortidge double the advantage for the leaders and when Balaz Boda added a third it was game over for Bath Road Wanderers who despite scoring a late consolation via Owen Pearce were beaten by the better team on the day.


Lacock Athletic FC 1 Manor FC 0

WEBB’S FIRST HALF GOAL WINS IT FOR LACOCK

With their own pitch at Lansdown unavailable, Manor FC switched their match to the home of opponents Lacock Athletic and yet again hosts enjoyed home comforts as a 1-0 victory saw Ben Thomas side maintain their 100% home League start.

Tom Webb’s first half effort was the difference between the teams and proved to be the winner for Lacock who will look to claim a fourth successive home win next week when they host Lansdown Reserves.


Lansdown Reserves FC 0 Forest Albion FC 10

RAMPANT FOREST ALBION HIT LANSDOWN FOR 10

For Lansdown Reserves who beat Weston Village – Team Nathan 4-3 last week to record a first win of the season it was a case of after the Lord Mayor’s show went they played hosts to a Forest Albion side who after being on the end a 10-0 thumping last Sunday show no mercy against their hosts as they netted 10 unanswered goals that saw them claim a third league win on the bounce.

Josh Flynn started the ball rolling for Forest when he put them ahead, James Dark doubled the lead for Mark Gee’s side and when Flynn added his second and a third for the visitors prior to half time, which set them up perfectly for a second half onslaught on their hosts goal.

Forest were relentless in the second period as they bagged seven unanswered goals, Harry Brennard made it 4-0, Douggie Hewer added goal number 5, before Steve Badger made it 6-0 when rolled back the years with his first goal for a long time.

Josh Flynn completed his hat trick and further goals for Douggie Hewer, Dave Hewer and Steve Badger made up Forest’s 10.    


Team Nathan AFC 4 Weston Village – Team Nathan FC 2

TEAM NATHAN AFC TAKE DERBY DAY SPOILS

Mark Blackmore-Payne’s Team Nathan AFC picked up their second victory of the campaign after beating local rivals Weston Village – Team Nathan 4-2, for Weston Village it saw them lose for a fifth game running.

Sam Hinton got Weston Village back on level terms before half time after Jimmy Bradley had given Team Nathan AFC the early advantage.

Weston Village took a 2-1 lead in the second period, courtesy of Zilwood Stead, but they were unable to build on their lead and they were quickly pegged back by a Liam Davis goal which saw parity restored at 2-2.

With the game ebbing and flowing and chances falling to each side it was Team Nathan AFC who grabbed the all-important next goal with a first goal for the club from Louis Brand putting them 3-2 ahead.

Jimmy Bradley who started the scoring for the hosts sealed the victory when he was on hand to net his second on the morning to complete the win.


Trowbridge Athletic FC 4 TSW FC 2

TROWBRIDGE ATHLETIC MAINTAIN TSW HOODOO

Trowbridge Athletic FC had to come from behind to beat TSW FC for a third successive time.  Trowbridge who convincing won both meetings of the sides last term were 2-1 at one point before turning things around to claim a 4-2 win, which leaves TSW with no win from their opening 3 matches.

Luke Willmott saw his opener for Trowbridge Athletic cancelled out by Alex Holmes whose goal took the teams into the break locked together at 1-apiece.

The second period began with TSW on top and a second of the morning from Alex Holmes put the visitors to Notton House School 2-1 in front.   Nathan Roberts restored parity for the hosts and when Willmott bagged his second of the game the match started to slip away from TSW whose latest defeat was confirmed by Kevin Balchin when his fourth goal of the season wrapped up a 4-2 win.
