BASEMENT SIDE LANSDOWN SHOCK BATH ROVERS
Chippenham & Bath League, Division One basement side Lansdown FC sprung the surprise of the day as they welcomed second placed Bath Rovers who suffered a shock 3-1 defeat.
Jake Clement opened the scoring for the home team before Rovers leading scorer Dek Davies equalised as the sides were level 1-1 at half time.
Lansdown then had Craig Rogers score his 50th goal for Lansdown to give them the lead.
Theo Martin’s goal ensured a first league win of the season for the home side.
Whiteway FC 3 Beeches FC 1
WHITEWAY REMAIN TOP AFTER BEECHES SUCCESS
Whiteway FC remain top of the table after they maintained their good form as they welcomed Beeches to Odd Down.
Cameron New opened the scoring after 12 minutes for the home team before Beeches missed a penalty. However, Charlie Waylen equalised for the visitors as the teams went in level at half time.
After 68 minutes Whiteway restored their lead with a Bill Turner goal. Leading scorer Gary Jones scored again after 71 minutes to ensure the home team took the points with a 3-1 win.
