WARMINSTER SHOCK OLD ROAD IN MEMORIAL CUP
Third division Warminster Athletic sprang the surprise of the round as they came back from 1-0 and 2-1 down at home to First Division Old Road to win 4-2 and move into the next round of this season’s PJL Rail Services Ltd sponsored Memorial Cup
Patrick Whittock had opened the scoring for first Division Old Road before Ben Bullis equalised. David Moor-Bardell restored Old Road’s lead as they led 2-1 at half time.
Second half goals from Grady Dufosse, Zak Gattiker and a Jon Horn penalty turned the tie on it’s head as Warminster took a 4-2 win to move into the quarter-finals.
Hourglass FC 4 Farrington Albion 2
HOURGLASS TURN TO MEMORIAL CUP FOR INSPIRATION
With a 25 minute late kick-off due to various issues at their Bowerhill base it appeared as if neither Premier Division outfit Hourglass of their Second division opponents Farrington Albion who only had 7 players turn up prior to kick-off but were saved by the fact that neither team could get into the changing rooms.
Hourglass opened the scoring against their visitors with a Tom Andrew goal. Ben Curtis then equalised for the visitors. However, goals from Alex Singh and then Jordan Anning gave Hourglass a 3-1 advantage at half time.
An unfortunate own goal extended the lead to 4-1 for Hourglass before Luke Tucker pulled a goal back for the visitors, Hourglass held out to move on to the last 8 with a 4-2 win.
Manor FC 1 Lansdown FC 5
LANSDOWN HAVE EYES ON CUP SUCCESS
Division Three Manor FC whose form has improved recently held their Division One opponents Lansdown to a 1-1 draw at half time on a wild and windy Lansdown Pitch.
Jake Banks having opened the scoring for the visitors before Chris Spurrey equalised for Manor.
The second half belonged to Lansdown as Jake Clemmit, then Theo Martin followed by two goals from Alex Chapman saw the visitors through to the next round with a 5-1 away win
Olympic Victoria FC 9 Lansdown Reserves FC 1
OLYMPIC RUN RINGS AROUND LANSDOWN RESERVES
Division Two Olympic Victoria showed no mercy to their Division Three visitors Lansdown Reserves whom they welcomed to their Odd Down home.
They raced into a 5-0 half time lead. An own goal started them on their way before Chris Rogers added a second followed by an Andy Rhead goal and goals from Lawrence Room and Ciaran Llewellyn
Lawrence Room scored a second after half time as substitute Ravneet Rai added a seventh. Shaun Lewis then scored before Chris Rogers got his second goal to give Victoria a 9-0 lead.
Curtis Jones then scored twice for the visitors as Victoria moved into the next Round with a 9-2 win.
University Of Bath FC 2 Griffin FC 4
VINTAGE JONES STARS IN LAVIS CUP WIN
University of Bath who are finding life difficult in the Premier division were given another hard game as they welcomed high flying Division two Griffin to their University pitch.
Griffin opened the scoring through Howard Dennis before Max Western added a second.
Edward McMillan replied for the University as they went into half time 2-1 behind.
Louis Bolland restored the two goal advantage for the visitors from the penalty spot. Louis Barnes reduced the arrears again for the University before Duncan Frew’s goal ensured a 4-2 away win for the visitors.
