PREMIER DIVISION ROUND UP – 26th November 2023

FC Devizes United 7 Scoop FC 1

DEADLY DEVIZES DESTROY WOEFUL SCOOP

Last terms Chippenham & Bath League, Premier division champions Scoop may have beaten FC Devizes United 5-3 when the teams met earlier in the season, but the reverse fixture that also saw 8 goals scored saw Devizes on top form as they avenged that defeat in style.

With the festive period on the horizon, Scoop suffered their owe version of a Nightmare Before Christmas as a dominant performance from Evan Webster’s side saw them destroy the champions 7-1.

After taking a 2-1 half time lead FC Devizes ran riot in the second half scoring five more to put a mark down about their title ambitions.

The division’s top scorer Edward Summers had scored a brilliant free kick to give Scoop the lead.

With Jordan Kirk pulling the strings in midfield, Scoop had no answer to their hosts as top scorer Kieron Gleed however hit four on the day to move up the scoring chart.

Jay Walters, Zac Baskerville on his debut and Jack Coward completed the 7-1 demolition victory.

Corsham Pavao FC 2 University Of Bath FC 2

PAVAO AND UNI BOYS SHARE THE SPOILS

Corsham Pavao were given a hard game by bottom team University of Bath who have yet to win this season.

The University took the lead when Will Honeychurch opened the scoring for them. Ben Selman equalised for the home team to leave the teams level 1-1 at half time,

University’s substitute Vladislav Pokoievych then gave them the lead before Corey Harbour-Burgess equalised. The game ending with a point each from the 2-2 draw

Hourglass FC v Lavis FC A/W

HOURGLASS CALL IT A DAY AFTER LATEST POSTPONEMENT

Following what was their fourth postponement of the season it came as little surprise that Devizes based Hourglass have made the decision to withdraw from the Premier division of the Chippenham and Bath Football League. Hourglass join both AFC Melksham and The British Lion who withdrew from the division prior to the start of the season. I means that just 7 teams will continue to battle for the silverware that’s on offer.
