10-MAN MANOR CHOP FOREST DOWN TO SIZE

After a run of indifferent results that left Manor FC in the bottom half of the Chippenham & Bath League, Third division standings and which included a 7-0 thumping away at table toppers Forest Albion, Jamie Comley’s side undoubtedly produced the upset and result of the day with a 4-3 success over Mark Gee’s table topping side.

Manor who played the whole 90 minutes with 10 men took the game to Forest and went ahead through Connor Liddiard. A first goal for the club from recent signing Kaylum Escott made it 2-0 and Manor couldn’t believe what was happening when Tyreece Chevolleau bagged his seventh goal of the campaign to give them a 3-0 half time advantage.

Forest knew if they wanted to get back into the contest they would need to step up a few gears after the break and that’s exactly what they did as goals from Tyler Campbell and Leigh Rowles-Hitchcock reduced the arrears to the odd goal.

With Forest now in the ascendancy, Manor knew they had a fight on their hands, but rather than go all defensive they hunted a fourth goal which came via a second of the morning from Tyreece Chevolleau.

4-2 down, Forest managed a third goal, which came courtesy of Leigh Rowles-Hitchcock, and although the huffed and puffed looking for an equaliser they could blow the Manor house down as the hosts held out for what was a fantastic victory.


Lansdown Reserves FC 1 AFC Ivy 3

IVY CLOSE GAP ON LEADERS

With Third division leaders Forest Albion surprising losing away at Manor FC, a 3-1 victory for AFC Ivy away at Lansdown Reserves saw them move to within 6 points of the pacesetters, but with 3 games in hand on Mark Gee’s Forest side.

After a goalless first half, it was Lansdown Reserves who made the breakthrough when Ricky McCaffrey put them in front.

Ben Farrar got Ivy back on level terms and Owen Windsor put them 2-1 up before they wrap up all 3 points thanks to Harrison Collings seventh goal of the season.


Trowbridge Athletic FC 3 Lacock Athletic FC 1

SAM’S THE MAN AS TROWBRIDGE BEAT LACOCK

Lacock Athletic maybe having one of their best ever seasons, however inconsistency is costing them dear. Having beaten Trowbridge Athletic 6-2 a month ago, Ben Thomas saw his side suffer a 3-1 reverse at his opponents Notton House School pitch.

Sam Jones was the star of the show for Trowbridge who scored all 3 of their goals. His first restoring parity before the interval after Dave Payne had given Lacock the lead.

Jones regained the lead for the Trowbridge youngsters before he completed the scoring to take home the ball, and seal 3 points which saw his side move up to third and relegate Lacock down to to fourth place.


Warminster Athletic FC 2 Bath Road Wanderers FC 1

WALKER FIRES WARMINTER TO VICTORY

When Warminster Athletic and Bath Road Wanderers met on the opening day of the season, it was the latter who recorded a 4-2 victory in what was their first ever league match. In the return fixture a 2-1 success for Stuart Green’s Warminster side saw them swap places with their opponents in the league standings.

Jacob Applegate’s goal gave Bath Road Wanderers a half time lead, however they were undone in the second period by a Dan Walker double, which turned the game on it’s head as Warminster fought back to claim victory.


Weston Village – Team Nathan FC 3 Team Nathan FC 2

CHAMPAGNE MOMENT FOR VILLAGERS WITH FIRST WIN

Having picked up their first point of the campaign last weekend following their draw with Warminster Athletic FC, Weston Village – Team Nathan FC went one step further this weekend as they picked up their first win to send the champagne corks popping, thanks to a 3-2 triumph over local and friendly rivals Team Nathan FC.

Team Nathan who took the lead through David Stevenson went into the interval locked together at 1-apiece as a Ben Brimson effort saw parity restored.

Ionut – Viorel Ranete put Weston Village 2-1 ahead and when Catalin Cobzaru made it 3-1, the villagers looked to be coasting to a memorable win.

That all changed when Call MacDuff halved the deficit for Team Nathan, however his goal was nothing more than a consolation rather than the catalyst for a revival as Weston Village held out for all 3 points.
