FC DEVIZES FLY FLAG FOR LEAGUE IN SUNDAY CUP

FC Devizes maintained their impressive form with a 6-2 win over fellow Premier division rivals Corsham Pavao despite the visitors taking the lead from Corey Harbour-Burgess.

Jay Walters brought Devizes level before Kieron Gleed gave them the lead and Oscar Webster scored to leave the half time score at 3-1.

Adam Mitchell gave Pavao hope as he reduced the arrears. Two further goals from Gabe Costello and a second from Kieron Gleed in the second half pulled Devizes through to the next round with a 6-2 win.

Next up for Devizes is a home time with either Beeches FC or Halfway House Harriers.


FCD United FC 6 Kingfisher FC 1

FISHERMEN EXIT SUNDAY CUP AFTER FDC DRUBBING

Swindon Sunday league side FDC United had an emphatic win over division two Kingfisher by 9 goals to 1 after leading 5-0 at half time.

Henry Galloway scored for the visitors in the second half but could not stop the home team from going through to the next round.

As described by Fox & Hounds (Warminster) secretary this was one game to far for the division one highflyers as they went down 9-0 to the current Wiltshire Sunday Cup champions. It looks clear the visitors intend to keep hold of the trophy and it will take a good team to unseat them.

George Higgins to scored with six of the goals for the County Cup holders, Robbie Owen a brace with Harrison Hale’s single making up the 9.

SCOOP SLUMP TO COUNTY CUP DEFEAT

Despite an Edward Summers goal, Premier division Scoop went down 4-1 to unbeaten Swindon Sunday League division three side Old Town Athletic. Goals from Thomas Albert Max Wynn-Davis in the 23rd and 37th minutes gave the home team an advantage that they maintained.

A goal in the 64th minute from Simon Jenkins extended lead as a late goal from substitute Peter Richmond in added time completed the 4-1 win.

DRAGON TAMED BY LAVERSTOCK & FORD

Despite Sam Chapman opening the scoring for Green Dragon they went down 4-1 to a strong Laverstock & Ford (Sunday) side who beat fellow division one side Old Road 6-0 in the previous round.
