COMBE DOWN WIN TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH

Kingfisher FC 3 The Pewsham FC 1

KINGFISHER KEEP GOOD RUN GOING

Kingfisher welcomed The Pewsham to their Buckley Barracks pitch. Kingfisher are in good form at present having had a convincing win over the new division leaders last time out, whilst Pewsham have been on the end of some heavy defeats recently.

Kingfisher dominated the early play and opened the scoring after 11 minutes as Benjamin Haines headed home. Although Kingfisher pressed, the Pewsham defence held them out until the 19th minute when after some nice interplay Kieran Blake scored with a low shot. Pewsham then came more into the game but could not find a goal as Kingfisher took a 2-0 lead into half time.

The second half was much more even in play albeit the better chances seemed to fall to Kingfisher. The home team had to wait until the 85th minute before they could extend their lead, when Joshua Mannings scored after a goal mouth scramble. Pewsham did not however give up as Steven Browning scored after some nice play in the 89th minute to leave the final score at 3-1 for Kingfisher.
