AFC Ivy celebrate winning the Chippenham & Bath Third Division title

IVY PIP FOREST TO THE TITLE

In what was the final game of the season for the top two sides , second placed AFC Ivy welcomed Forest Albion knowing they would leapfrog their opponents to the Chippenham & Bath League Third division title if they avoided defeat having beaten them 5-2 at Forest Community Centre.

Aidan Fowles opened the scoring for Ivy to give them a 1-0 half time lead.

Aidan Fowles then scored again to extend Ivy’s lead before Leigh Rowels pulled a goal back 7 minutes from time to produce an excellent finish as Forest tried to regain the initiative.

Ivy held on the give them the title and after the match which was played in an excellent sporting spirit by both sides and well refereed by Ryan Mann, League secretary Pete Wallis presented the winners trophy and mementoes to AFC Ivy and the Runners Up awards to Forest Albion who were commended by all for the manner in which they greeted the AFC Ivy team.

TEAM NATHAN FINISH ON A HIGH

Team Nathan finished the season on a high with a convincing 4-2 home win over visitors Warminster Athletic.

Max Wheatley scored twice before Darren Marks pulled a goal back for Warminster to leave the score at 2-1 for Team Nathan at half time.

Kieran Smith extended Team Nathan’s lead before Ethan Green again reduced the lead. A final goal from Andy Marks gave Team Nathan a 4-2 victory.
