THURSDAY NIGHT GOAL RUSH AT GOATACRE
Corsham Rovers whose second place in Division Two was guaranteed, were welcomed to Goatacre by The Pewsham who were bottom of the division.
At this point of the season. strange results can happen when one team does not take the game seriously as they usually do and the other produces their game of the season, and that was evident on Thursday night when Pewsham played out their skin to claim a 5-5 draw with a Rovers side who had picked their places out of a hat.
Rovers held a slim 3-2 lead at the half with two goals from Callum Howard and a goal from Jake Abbott. Pewsham’s goals coming from Xander Tuck and Riley Gascoigne.
A determined second half performance from Pewsham ensured the game ended level at 5-5. Riley Gascoigne adding a second for them along with goals from Chris Pickering and substitute Thomas Tierney. Rovers both goals coming from Jake Dodge. Although Corsham’s focus may well have been on Sunday’s upcoming Subsidiary Cup, Pewsham can be proud of their performance on the night.
Semington FC 1 Combe Down FC 3
SEMINGTON FINISH ON A DOWNER
Semington welcomed third place Combe Down to their Little Marsh home. James Cox opened the scoring for the home team before Dyllan Angishan-Law equalised for the visitors as the teams went in level at half time.
Goals from James Walker and a second from Dyllan Angishan-Law ensured the points went to the visitors with a 3-1 away win.
