STUNNING COMEBACK NETS GRIFFIN THE TITLE

Griffin FC knew that they would have to win at home in their final game to take the Division Two title.

They were however rocked on their heels by third place Combe Down as the visitors took a three goal first half lead as Drew Lovelock, Dyllan Angishan-Law and James Walker scored.

The half time talk clearly paid dividends for Griffin as Matt Pawley scored twice to bring them back into the game.

Max Western then equalised before Dave Walton scored to give Griffin a narrow 4-3 victory.

Congratulations to Griffin FC who took the Division Two title as well as their PJL Memorial Cup win to round off a successful season.


Forest Renegades FC 0 Olympic Victoria FC 2

VICTORIA FINISH ON A WINNING NOTE

After a goalless first half away at Forest Renegades a goal from Simon Wikeley gave Olympic Victoria a second half lead.

Andy Rhead then scored a second to ensure Olympic Victoria finished the season on a winning note.


The Pewsham FC 1 Westbury Rovers FC 6

MITCHELL ROLLS BACK THE YEARS WITH SEMINGTON DOUBLE

Two goals from Aaron Burbridge in the first two minutes of the game gave Westbury Rovers the ideal start as they visited Pewsham at their Goatacre home.

Craig Sheppard increased Westbury’s lead with a turn and low shot in the area. In the 42nd minute James Reeves tapped home after a cross from the left to give Westbury a 4-0 half time lead.

In the 66th minute Callum Lane increased Westbury’s lead to 5-0. Pewsham pulled a goal back in the 75th minute after the keeper had saved Kadir Ayhan’s shot, Chris Pickering pouncing on the rebound to score.

On 80 minutes, Callum Lane scored his second to give Westbury a 6-1 away win to finish their season on a high.


Westbury Rovers FC 0 Corsham Rovers FC 5

THURSDAY NIGHT JOY FOR CORSHAM

Corsham Rovers continued to press hard for the Division Two title as they visited Westbury Rovers who had obtained the Beeches at Shaw for the game.

Goals from Jake Dodge and Callum Howard gave the visitors a 2-0 half time lead.

Aron Byfield added a third before Jake Dodge got his second of the evening and Olly Clarke scored a fifth to give Corsham the victory, that although on the night kept them in with a chance of winning the title, but after Sunday’s round of results meant they had to settle for the runners up spot to Griffin FC.
