Division 2

Matches in the Chippenham & Bath Second Division were finally concluded as the Division’s runners up Corsham Rovers and The Pewsham were in action on Thursday night, while Semington and Combe Down played out the final league match of the season on Sunday morning on rock hard pitch at Little Marsh which just over a month ago was like a swamp.

A stunning second half comeback form Griffin FC saw them overturn a 3-0 interval deficit to claim a 4-3 triumph which in turn saw Duncan Frew’s Bath based side clinch the Second division title.

With the race to become Chippenham & Bath League champions still very much on, there was no movement at the op of the standings as all the main players were either in Subsidiary cup action or had a free weekend.

Both Semington FC and Forest Renegades were in action twice in four days, with a mixed bag of results for both teams. Regardless of the results both teams were just happy to get the games played as they look to close out what has been a difficult season for each of them.

With all of the Chippenham & Bath Division Two promotion chasing sides without a league match, there were only two matches in the division which saw wins for both Westbury Rovers and Semington FC

With the fixtures in the Chippenham & Bath League Second division now drawing to a close for most sides, Olympic Victoria and Semington FC are two teams who are playing catch up and they will be relieved that after switching their match from Littlemarsh to Odd Down Sports ground the recent poor weather relented and the match went ahead to the relief of all involved.
