Division 2

With both Corsham Rovers and Combe Down missing out on a fixture, Chippenham & Bath Second Division leaders Griffin FC extended their lead over their promotion chasing rivals thanks to a 2-0 victory away ay Olympic Victoria.

Combe Down suffered an unexpected defeat away at Forest Renegades and in doing so missed out on the chance to move level on points with current leaders Griffin who like second placed Corsham Rovers were in Subsidiary Cup action.

With the top two sides in the Chippenham & Bath League, Division Two missing out on a fixture at the weekend, Combe Down were left kicking themselves that having led on 3 separate occasions they failed to take maximum points from their meeting with Kingfisher FC

Not for the first time this season, the weather once again proved to be the winner as a week of rain, snow and an overnight frost led to just two matches being played in the Chippenham & Bath League, with both of those being in Division Two

With none of the Chippenham & Bath League Division Two promotion chasing sides in action, it means that things remain as they were at the top of the table. At the other end their were defeats for three of the bottom four sides, whose battle to stay in the division is as exciting as the one between those trying to leave it.

With the weather claiming all bar two of the scheduled Chippenham & Bath League’s scheduled fixtures, both Kingfisher and Marshfield (Sunday) emerged victorious from their matches against respective opponents Olympic Victoria and Westbury Rovers FC.

Things remain very close at the top of the table as all three title contenders picked up maximum points from their matches.
