DEVIZES DISMANTLE PAVAO TO REACH SENIOR SUB CUP FINAL

Cinch Self Storage sponsored Knockout cup winners FC Devizes United welcomed Corsham Pavao to their Goatacre pitch, clearly determined to reach their second final of the year after narrowly missing out on the Premier Division title, the prize for the winners being a spot in the Senior Subsidiary cup final.

After 5 minutes Devizes took the lead when Oscar Webster cut in from the right to meet a cross from the left and shoot home.

A couple of minutes later Kieron Gleed hit the bar as Devizes pressed forward. They had however to wait until the 32nd minute to score again. Jay Walters turning in the area and scoring to give Devizes a 2-0 half time lead.

A flurry of goals at the start of the second half killed off any hopes of a Corsham Pavao revival. After 49 minutes Jack Baker fired home after some nice interplay.

In the 51st minute Kieron Gleed was brought down in the penalty area. He took the penalty himself and made no mistake to give Devizes a 4-0 lead. Two minutes later Oscar Webster had made it 5-0 with his second of the morning.

Corsham Pavao were unable to make any impression on the match as Devizes won 5-0 and now face Premier Division champions Scoop again in the Final.
